Job Description

Smart Work | Network, has been retained to deliver to our client a high-performing strategic Human Resources professional for the position of Director, Field Human Resources for their business unit, TrueSource, headquartered in Islandia, NY.  

The Director will participate as a part of the leadership team of True Source while being a part of the Field Services HR team of OnPoint Group.   The Director will provide consultative and business focused support and services that drives a culture of high engagement, innovation, continuous improvement, and enhanced operational and financial results. The Director will provide leadership for the delivery and execution of strategic HR initiatives, provides effective coaching and guidance to leaders and team members, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies, and develops team members.  This position reports to the Sr. Director, Field Human Resources for OnPoint and has a dotted-line to the President of TrueSource, and leads a team of approximately 1-2 Human Resource Business Partners and/or Human Resources Generalists.

The right candidate will have at least 10 years’ experience as a Senior Human Resource Professional, and specifically have some of that experience in a Call Center Environment.  

TrueSource is a leading provider of facilities management and maintenance services.    The services are provided by a broad base of independent affiliates around the nation.    Therefore the primary employee base that the Director will be supporting are call center support personnel to handle all customer relationships between TrueSource and the Affiliate service providers.  

Also, recently the company made a decision to move all call center staff to work from home.    Candidates who have some experience with employees who are in a remote work environment is strongly desired.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive, innovative, and customer-oriented human resource solutions based upon knowledge of business objectives and team member needs
  • Execute solutions to improve performance, retention, and team member experience
  • Direct the management of human resources investigations and complex issues; guide human resource business partners, leaders, and team members in resolving team member relations issues by providing effective conflict resolution and coaching
  • Provide ongoing support to leaders on human resources related matters, policies and procedures; partner with human resource leadership to identify areas of opportunity and suggest improvements
  • Create and facilitate formal and informal human resources training on team member relations matters such as performance counseling and engagement
  • Lead with enthusiasm, openness, and positivity in order to inspire and motivate leaders and team members; promote team member engagement and inclusiveness
  • Build relationships with the human resource business partners, retain all talent
  • Create and implement strategic plans to reduce voluntary and involuntary turnover
  • Drive a safety culture through training, awareness, and development of key leadership
  • Lead and influence the leadership culture to drive engagement, business results, and team member satisfaction survey scores
  • Partner with business unit leadership to drive succession planning, workforce development, and employee retention.
  • Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management

Key Professional Experience Required for Consideration

Education and Experience:

Must-Have Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years Human Resources management experience in a multi-unit, multi-state organization
  • Knowledge of strategic HR practices and best practices in Human Resources
  • HRCI and/or SHRM Certification preferred
  • Call Center Human Resource Experience
  • Strongly prefer someone who has provided Human Resource Services to a mostly remote workforce
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
