 Manager for Veteran-Centric Community Services

Smart Work | Network, Inc., a retained search firm located in Greenville, SC, is seeking candidates  for our client,  America’s Warrior Partnership, headquartered in Augusta, GA, for the position titled Senior Program Manager, Veterans Services.

America’s Warrior Partnership (AWP) is a 501-C3 non-profit organization whose mission it is to partner with "Warrior-centric" communities by providing a proven model, mentorship, and resources in order to advance comprehensive and holistic Warrior care that will promote the overall well-being of Warriors, their families and their communities. http://youtu.be/ZFOcio1Unl0

As the Manager,  Veteran-Centric Community Services, you will have the opportunity to:

  1. Work with a nationally recognized best-practice organization with a primary mission of supporting veterans
  2. Manage/Coach & Develop a team of highly talented Community Managers who are the primary interface with these Warrior Communities and demonstrate the responsibility of ensuring compliance of the America's Warrior Partnership grant and dedicated mentorship to the community
  3. Serve our country by helping local communities serve their own citizen veterans, who have a multiplicity and diversity of needs
  4. Work with a highly motivated team of professionals in an entrepreneurial environment who continuously demonstrate a passion for helping Warrior Communities become self-sustaining in service to our Veterans upon their transition from active military service

America's Warrior Partnership is growing the number of its supported communities almost four-fold in the next 10 months. To support this growth, they must recruit a highly self-reliant Leader/Manager who possesses a similarly strong passion for both the mission of the organization and generating results through the effective use of coaching, mentoring and procedural skills by a team of Community Managers.  These Community Managers have the most “localized contact and oversight” of their direct Community Organizations.

These communities will already have experienced some “start-up” mentorship, but after 12 to 16 months of successful start-up experience, they must move to a “self-sustaining mentorship” model. This is the focus of this position.  Although examples of this model already exist, the new Manager will have the opportunity to add their considerable perspective to enhance the systems and processes with each of the Community Managers with whom they will work.

Because AWP’s goal is to establish effective community programs and ensure communities are self-sustaining, the main focus in this position is to monitor each Community's progress toward their particular target metrics.  Proactive assistance is given to communities through mentoring and teaching of best-practices.    Process thinking and continuous improvement models would provide a helpful perspective in coaching these communities.

Summary Job Responsibility:    The Manager for Veteran-Centric Community Services is responsible for direct supervision and leadership of a team of Community Managers, who are the direct liaisons between America’s Warrior Partnership and the individual Warrior Community Groups AWP continues to fund and/or mentor and coach.
