Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. — a global firm with strong values and great people — seeks a motivated, results-oriented candidate, who has a minimum of 3 years experience in representing tire manufacturers in sales to dealers.  Candidates will be considered who live within the geographical boundaries of the territory, which comprises northern CA (including the Bay Area and Sacramento), Nevada, Utah and Hawaii.

 

Job Description: 
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) position is accountable for attainment of the unit, product mix and dollar sales targets for all products within their assigned sales area.  These responsibilities also include the effective interaction with dealers and Truck Tire Sales Managers (TTSMs), and acting as the primary liaison between Toyo and their dealer network.

The RSM is the key source of competitive information and market dynamics for division and corporate management, and is responsible for healthy short term results, as well as for planning, collaborating and executing productive, long term business development within their assigned markets.

RSMs have a direct, straightforward reporting relationship: a solid line to their divisional director.

The right candidate will have a high degree of personal motivation, good leadership capability, a deep understanding of dealer sales relationships, and a strong personal work ethic. The right candidate will have demonstrated success in managing sales territories, communicating programs, features, advantages and benefits, ensuring program compliance and execution, and resolving issues in a timely, cooperative manner.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Achieve assigned annual unit, product mix and dollar sales goals in coordination with the Divisional Directors of Sales’ objectives
  • Present and implement written programs for dealer accounts to achieve sales goals
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with major dealer accounts through regular contact and proper handling of sales and administrative functions
  • Train and develop dealer sales personnel, as well as working closely with other dealer personnel who have decision-making or functional responsibility for purchasing, stocking, marketing, and selling Toyo products
  • Coordinate activities and initiatives with Toyo TTSMs to ensure the development of people and accomplishment of established sales objectives for TBR products, while promoting Toyo as a premier commercial tire brand in the industry
  • Provide regular competitive information and market dynamics for division and corporate management
  • Optimize  activities   through effective call planning, execution and  time management
  • Assist TTSMs, as necessary, in sales efforts at selected TBR fleet prospects
  • Keep Divisional Director informed of all aspects of sales through the use of SalesForce.com, and effective email communications
  • Collaborate with Divisional Directors and TTSMs to target, solicit and sign new Retail, Wholesale and Direct Fleet accounts
  • Attend and participate in quarterly Divisional meetings concerning sales and/or training issues, product updates, and assistance to TTSMs and Division Directors
  • Assist with special projects, and other duties as assigned 

 

Key Experience for Candidate Consideration:

  • 3-10 years sales experience is essential, tire sales a plus 
  • Deep passenger and LTR product knowledge is also a plus
  • Commercial LTR and TBR product knowledge and vehicle application knowledge also a plus
  • Proven ability to influence others to achieve results without direct-reporting control; a self-starter, leader and manager
  • Strong selling skills through product knowledge, programs, services and motivational skills
  • Track record of attaining objectives in tough environments
  • Experience creating sales and marketing programs, and incentives for sales organizations and channels
  • Excellent trainer and motivator
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, and a demonstrated ability to prioritize
  • Solid written, oral and presentation skills
  • Personal computer skills necessary for communication, reporting and presentations
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com a benefi

Travel Requirements

  • Overnight travel is estimated at 50%
