Truck Tire Sales Manager –  Toyo Tires – Territory: Georgia, Florida, Alabama & Tennessee

Truck Tire Sales Manager who could live in Atlanta, Jacksonville, Birmingham or Nashville (or close to their airports) and cover Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Tennessee

Toyo Tires— a global firm with strong values, great people and a unique opportunity— seeks self-motivated candidates & results-oriented, who have a minimum of 3 years experience in selling TBR tires to fleets and dealers.  Candidates will be considered who live within driving distance of any major airport as 50% of the time in this role requires air travel.

 

Job Description:
The Truck Tire Sales Manager (TTSM) position is accountable for attaining the unit and dollar sales targets for TBR products within their assigned geographic sales area.  These accountabilities also include the effective interaction with and training of Regional Sales Managers, and developing and maintaining professional relationships with key TBR dealers, their commercial sales forces, and certain targeted fleet accounts.

The TTSM is the key source of competitive information and market dynamics for division and corporate management, and is responsible for healthy short-term results, and productive, long-term business development within their assigned geographic markets.

TTSMs have two reporting relationships: a straight line to their functional manager, the Director of Commercial Truck Tire Sales, and a dotted line reporting relationship to their divisional director.

The right candidate will have a high degree of personal motivation, good leadership capability, a deep understanding of fleet and dealer sales relationships, and a strong personal work ethic. The right candidate will have demonstrated success in managing tire sales territories, communicating sales programs including features, advantages and benefits, ensuring ethical program compliance and execution, and resolving identified issues in a timely as well as cooperative manner.

 

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Achieve assigned, annual TBR unit and dollar sales goals in coordination with the National and Divisional Directors of Sales’ and Regional Sales Managers’ objectives
  • Plan, develop and implement written sales programs for dealer accounts to achieve sales goals
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with major TBR dealer accounts through regular contact and proper handling of sales and administrative functions
  • Train and develop sales personnel, both key dealer commercial sales personnel as well as Toyo RSMs, to ensure the development of people and accomplishment of established sales objectives for TBR products, while promoting Toyo as a premier commercial tire brand in the industry
  • Provide regular competitive information and market dynamics for division and corporate management
  • Optimize activities through effective territory management through sales call planning, execution and  time management
  • Collaborate with Director of Commercial Truck Tire Sales and Divisional Directors to target, solicit and sign new Retail and Direct Fleet accounts
  • Assist Directors of Sales and Regional Sales Managers in solicitation efforts at large TBR fleet prospects
  • Keep Director of Commercial Truck Tire Sales informed of all aspects of sales through the use of technology such as SalesForce.com, and effective email communications
  • Attend and participate in quarterly Divisional meetings representing the Commercial Truck Tire Division concerning sales issues, training elements, product updates, and assistance to Regional Sales Managers and Division Directors
  • Collaborate on product technology issues and technical needs with the Sr. Product Manager of Commercial Truck Tires
  • Assist the Director of Commercial Truck Tire Sales in the ideation, recommendation and formulation of selling strategies, sales programs, and ideas to maximize the efforts of the entire Toyo Sales Team
  • Assist with special projects, and other duties as determined by Toyo Sales Management 

 

Key Experience for Candidate Consideration:

  • Minimum 3 years sales experience in Commercial Truck Tires
  • Commercial LTR and TBR product knowledge and vehicle application knowledge
  • Significant experience with both commercial servicing dealers and wholesale distributors
  • Background and experience working with large fleets and national accounts
  • Proven ability to influence others to achieve results without direct-reporting authority; a self-starter, influential leader and effective manager
  • Strong “value-add” selling skills demonstrated with targeted products, programs and services; customer influencing skills
  • Specific track record of attaining objectives even in the face of challenging market environments
  • Experience creating new sales programs and incentives for sales organizations and channels
  • Effective trainer and motivator
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize
  • Demonstrated experience with solid written, oral and presentation skills
  • Personal computer skills necessary for current technology used in communication, administrative reporting and presentations
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Working knowledge and experience using Salesforce.com a bonus
