Sales Estimator - Roofing Industry ($100k+ potential in the first year)

Are you a motivated estimator looking for an opportunity to join a fast growing company? If so, we want to speak with you! Our client promotes a proactive, preventative maintenance approach to roofing, provides high-quality roofing solutions to its growing customer base. 

Summary of Role Objective:

  • Bids: Responding to RFPs, preparing bids, and securing commercial and industrial roofing jobs
  • Relationships: Developing relationships with new customers and existing customers
  • Sales Pipeline: Responsible for developing and closing a pipeline of negotiated for both production and service work.

  • Estimating and Bidding
  • Product and Purchasing
  • Customer Satisfaction / Business Development

Required Knowledge & Skills:

Product:

  • Must be well versed in all single-ply roofing materials as well as single-ply methods of attachments
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, bid documents, and perform project takeoffs
  • Ability to compile and prepare project submittals.
  • Analytical: Ability to work with mathematical concepts and spreadsheets that use formulas for basic calculations and ratio analyses.

Project Management:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational, administrative, logistical, and communication skills.
  • Calculate pricing and cost impacts for change orders.
  • Data management: Most project documents are managed electronically. Proficiency with software technology including Excel and Word is a must. DataForma is a plus.
  • Team coordination: Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-hire criminal background check.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience as an Estimator in commercial roofing.
  • Prior sales experience in roofing and/or construction is a plus.
  • Knowledge of singly-ply membranes and attachment methods.

Working Conditions, Travel/Schedule expectations and Physical Demands

  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors.
  • Persons considering this job should be able to put up and take down a 28’ ladder on their own.
  • Reliable personal transportation to travel between customer locations.
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Traditional work schedule is Monday to Friday; may include occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.
